Health promotion is a comprehensive and multifaceted process that aims to create an enabling environment and provide people and communities with the knowledge and skills they need to change their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health and well-being. To become powerful and impactful, Health Promotion requires a holistic approach that intervenes at individual, interpersonal, organisational, community and policy levels. Health Promotion interventions and tools therefore need to be tailored to the specific needs, behaviours, risk factors, socio-economic determinants and environment of the target audiences.
